How to Improve Productivity with these 3 Easy Tips

Productivity is a key factor in any small business, especially when there is little to no team involved to help things run smoothly! But what technically is productivity? Productivity is the ratio of output to input. Productivity can be measured by the number of hours spent on work and the number of tasks completed during those hours. So basically speaking… how much can you get done in the least amount of time.

We can all use a little extra time in our days as small business owners so here are a few tips to increase productivity.

Tip #1: Break large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones.

First start by identifying the steps within your larger tasks and estimate how long it will take to accomplish each separate step. Next bust out a timer or a stopwatch. A timer is an easy and effective way to keep track of time and make sure that you don’t spend too much time on one task. Decide how much time each task gets and commit to completing the task before the timer goes off. One part structure, one part gamification

Tip #2: Set achievable goals and deadlines for yourself.

Setting achievable goals and deadlines is the key to productivity. If you set a goal that you know you can't achieve, it will be frustrating and demotivating. You should also set deadlines for your goals so that you can track your progress.

Tip #3: Prioritize your tasks and focus on completing one task at a time before moving on to another one.

Our brains are not designed to multitask. When we do, the quality of work suffers and it takes longer to complete the task. It is better to focus on one task at a time and finish it before moving on. This will help us be more productive and reduce stress.

Tip #4: Make use of technology such as apps and software, which can help you save time by automating certain tasks or reducing manual work.

Technology has become a huge part of our lives, and it is not slowing down anytime soon. With the help of apps and software, you can automate certain tasks or reduce manual work. This will allow you to save time for other things that need your attention. In fact, an AI program WROTE THIS BLOG POST! Is it my prefered method of writing? No. Is it something I will always use? Many small business owners think that productivity is about working more hours and putting in more effort. But this is not true at all. Productivity is about working smarter, not harder as they say to maximum our impact.
