Woman updating business website for 2023.

Here’s the top 5 changes to make on your website when updating for 2023:

Update your website imagery

As busy business owners, sometimes our website gets placed on the back burner. Before we know it, the imagery on our site becomes a showcase of our old selves and our old work. It doesn't display our growth as business owners and individuals from year to year. Updated imagery builds trust and is a key deciding factor for potential customers or clients who are on the fence about your business. With fresh images brings increase in sales, sign ups, and business growth. Take a minute to look through your website and decide if it is the best representation of your work and the work you would like to do in the future. Add or remove imagery to make your website the best representation of your business. While you’re at it, tweak your image names and alt text to improve SEO (search engine optimization).

Update your About Page

The only constant in life is change. This rings true for your businesses, us as people, and details on our website. Your About Page is a great example! This includes updating copy, images, and your number of years in business. Like the rest of your website, your About page is never done. A fresh About Page will spread the word about your company and draw in even more potential customers!

Update your pricing and packages

The starting at price and average price point summaries need to change with your pricing but sometimes get looked over when it comes to updating your website. Your pricing and packages should always reflect the NOW. If you have changed your packages, get rid of old copies of pricing or investment pages from your website to avoid confusion.

Update Copyright and Footers

One major change that we overlook is updating the copyright date on website footers and on any legal pages. By displaying the correct copyright year you build trust with potential clients by showing you are up to speed and that your website matters to you. It also protects you in a basic but important way.

Update legal documents

Privacy policies, terms and services, and contracts represent a few of the many legal requirements that your website must include. It's important to ensure that every legal document on your website is current. Feeling intimidated? Don't be afraid to consult a lawyer for new legal wording!
